If you're a football fan, check out this DIY!! It's perfect for Sunday football games at home or tailgates with your friends. And the best part is it can be done in 10 minutes or less and can be customized to for the team of your liking!
What you'll need:
1. Brown card stock or football textured card stock
2. White card stock or white computer paper
3. Hot glue gun & glue sticks
4. Cricut
5. Loading mat
6. Ribbon, twine, or something to glue your footballs to
To start, you can search in Cricut Design Space for a football image. This is when subscribing to Cricut access comes in handy. All you have to do is search for a football in the design images and find one that you like. Then you insert it in your design space and adjust the size accordingly. I'm making a 5 ft banner so I decided to make my footballs 11.5 inches.
Once your size is adjusted, you're ready to cut! Position your paper onto your loading mat and insert into your Cricut. This is the easy part -- let the Cricut do it's thing and cut your football shape.
(Football textured paper)
Once your footballs are cut, plug in your hot glue gun and get your white paper.
You start with your cut football - flip it over.
When you flip it over, cut a piece of white paper that will fit on the back. It doesn't have to be perfect, you'll trim it after you glue the white paper on. When you have your white paper cut, glue the back side of your football and press your white paper down so it sticks.
Flip the football back over once the glue has cooled down and dried. Trim the white paper off so you just see the leather part of the football shape.
After you've done this to all of your footballs, grab your ribbon and decide on the placement of your footballs. I had 5 ft so I found the center and put one in the middle and worked off of that. You could place your footballs horizontally as well, completely up to you! You could also add colored ribbon in between the footballs if you're rooting for a specific team.
Once you have your footballs placed exactly where you want them, glue them down with your hot glue gun. When they have cooled and are dry you're done!
There you have it - basic football banner!!
Let me know if you give this a go! I'd love to see the varieties you come up with.
