Bedroom Transformation

A few months ago, Seth and I decided to move our current bedroom to our current guest room. Our bedroom was at the front of our house and with us living on a busier street, we could hear traffic passing all nigh long, headlights constantly beaming into our windows, and the size of our room were all deciding factors for us to make the move. Our new bedroom has wood floors original to the home and had purple/grey walls. When were first moved in, other rooms were more important to paint so we put this room off until we decided what we wanted to do with the room. Because we decided to move, I thought it would be best to paint the room before we moved our bedroom furniture in.

Thanks to my amazing mother, she and I went to Lowe's Saturday morning, got breakfast, and started painting. We only had to put on one coat and touch up a few areas as we went along. We were done with the painting in 2 hours.

*Side note: If you are painting a room or multiple rooms in your home, I strongly recommend Valspar Signature paint. It is a little more expensive but it is completely worth it. It is the paint that we have used in every room but our front room (which does not look the best and will probably be re-done soon) and it has great color and durability.

Once the paint dried, Seth and I moved our furniture that was in the guest room out and move our bedroom furniture into our new room. We added a few final touches and our room was moved! I am SO happy we decided to move. Our sleep has been better and it's nice to sleep in a room that's brand new.

Here are the before pictures:

And after:

Total, this redo cost us under $250. Here's the break down:

$50 for paint and supplies

$80 at Hobby Lobby for decor

$65 at Kohl's for the rug (but it was originally $150 so I was happy with that!)

$45 at Wal-Mart for the lamps

We decided to keep our bedding and pillows that we previously had. We could not be happier with the end result of our new room.
