I first discovered Pinhole Press back in 2015. Seth had made some comments throughout the years about how he wanted some of our pictures to be in a photo album or book so we could have them physically, not just on our phones. I started searching around online and looked at book companies that I thought would best represent our 5 years’ worth of pictures... then I stumbled upon Pinhole Press.
Pinhole Press is a photo gift company specializing in photo books, cards, calendars, and framed photo gifts. I was drawn to the company by not only the pictures on their site but the quality of their photo gifts. I found that they had a hard cover photo book that was 8.75 x 11.25” and the book had 48 pages that you could fill with your pictures! I decided to give it a go and I tried to cram 5 years’ worth of pictures in 48 pages… it was rough but the end product was beyond my expectations.
These books are absolutely amazing. The colors are so vibrant and realistic. The pages are thick and matte, which I love because I hate finger print smudges on photos. These books are completely customizable and you can edit the cover and make your own title for your book. Then the opening page is made to be customized! You can keep it short and simple or you can write a message that you will keep and remember for a lifetime. You can change the color of the font and really design this book how you want it to look. You can get different colors in the binding from khaki, like we have chosen, to pink or red, to black, and even olive green! Here are the covers of our books (yes, you read right. BOOKS. The website walks you through how to create your book and there is even an option for them to create your book for you by auto populating your photos into a book. I always choose to start from scratch and make the book my own. You upload your pictures onto their site,(you can import pictures from Facebook!!) put them exactly where you want to go and in what order you want them to be in, and then insert them into the book accordingly. Pinhole Press has recently updated their books so you can now fit more pictures into a book with their new layout designs! If you don’t like a pre-set layout, all you have to do is go to the layout tab and choose the new layout you want for a page and drag it to your book. This company has made the process so simple and easy but if you do need some help, they are always there to help with online chat support.
Since discovering this AMAZING company, I have ordered a book titled, “5 Years of Us”, which was my 5 year anniversary gift to Seth. It’s filled with pictures from our years together starting with pictures from high school and ends with some of our engagement pictures. The next book we ordered was our wedding book. It has our favorite pictures from our wedding taken by Jake Ebersole Photography. And the most recent book we purchased was a book titled, “The Calvin’s: Year 1”. It has pictures from our first year of marriage and shows all of our adventures from our Honeymoon to Lincoln, NH, to our fall trip to Mohican State Park, to our vacation to Hubert, NC, and all of our memories in between.
